PhD Position Hispanic College Scholarships in Landscape Architecture and Urban Ecology


PhD Hispanic College Scholarships project will focus on landscape architecture and urban ecology at specific locations along the watershed Ciliwung Jakarta. This study will project a large metropolitan green corridor concept consisting of both natural and designed typology of river landscapes in the southern outskirts of town. Prior to his Masters degree in architecture or landscape architecture with demonstrated experience in large-scale topology of the landscape and urban design is required.

Hispanic College Scholarships further knowledge of environmental horticulture to the tropics would be appreciated. Thus, the successful candidate to work at the interface landscape and ecology will need to have a good academic education and a strong background in landscape architecture, urban studies and design of applied ecology. The Hispanic College Scholarships successful applicant will be highly motivated for scientific research, has a special interest in the topic and the appropriate background, has a personal initiative, feel comfortable with both team and independent work, and have good organizational skills. Very good oral and written command of English is required.

Each candidate will be asked to apply electronically in the form of two pdf files an application to the address indicated below. Pdf The first will include a letter of motivation, CV, Master or diploma certificate and academic transcript, the second pdf file will copy diploma Master's thesis or project. In addition to two confidential letters of recommendation, as well as pdf files, must be submitted directly to the address of the application.

The
Hispanic College Scholarships selected candidates will be registered as a student NUS / PhD FCL, but the research will be based in Singapore during the period of doctoral degrees. The team of researchers who worked on "Landscape and Ecology" module will be trained jointly by the Senior Researcher and Post Doctoral researcher with proven knowledge of relevant research fields. PhD Hispanic College Scholarships students will join a research team living in Singapore, working on a complex interdisciplinary projects at the interface of landscape and ecology and computer simulation. This position will start on 10.01.2011 or thereafter flexible.
